Summertime is the perfect time to visit nearby markets for local food, antiques and one-of-a-kind finds. In Orangeville you have several great nearby markets to explore. The Williams and McDaniel blog team has some great suggestions for where to shop this season.

Orangeville Farmers Market

The Orangeville Farmers Market (172 Broadway Ave) is a 3 minute walk from Embassy Apartments (8 First Avenue, Orangeville) and 5 minute walk from Mill Place Apartments (17 Church Street, Orangeville). Featuring the best fresh, local produce, locally raised meat, fish and fowl, baked goods and one of a kind crafts from local artisans. The market is open Saturdays from 8am to 1pm, May to October.

Inglewood Antique Market

Looking to do a little antiquing? The Inglewood Antique Market (16083 Hurontario Street, Caledon) is open  7 days a week, year round, from 10:30am to 5pm. The only days of the year this market closes are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The market is located inside an old apple barn that now houses several antique dealers featuring quality antiques at country prices. The market is only a 15 minute drive from Mill Place Apartments.

Reid’s Potatoes & Farm Market

Reid’s Potatoes & Farm Market (833153 4 Line East) is located at the end of a rural roadway, on the Reid family farm that has been in operation since 1845. The Reid family harvests many crops, but are best known for their potatoes. They feature seasonal produce from their own land and neighbouring farms, as well as homemade jams and pickles. This market works on the honour system, customers leave money in a till for what they purchase. It’s less than a 15 minute drive from Embassy Apartments.
The Williams and McDaniel Property Management blog team hopes this week’s post inspires you to get out and explore your local markets. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s fun to walk around a market, taking it all in. For more information on Williams and McDaniel rental properties in Orangeville, please visit our website.

What’s better than a cool frozen treat in the summer? It can be refreshing, fun, and easy to make. Everyone loves ice cream – maybe you’ve even own an ice cream maker. Frozen yogurt is a delicious low fat alternative to ice cream. Make some using Greek yogurt instead of heavy cream. The Williams and McDaniel Property Management blog team has some delicious recipes for you to try at home in your Orangeville apartment — with or without an ice cream maker.

Vanilla Froyo

It’s best to start with the basics. Once you’ve got vanilla frozen yogurt mastered, then you can go anywhere from there. This summer froyo recipe requires only three simple ingredients: greek yogurt, sugar and vanilla. That’s the way it should be! All you have to do is stir the ingredients together (use less sugar if you want a more tart yogurt) cover it and refrigerate for an hour, then freeze in an ice cream maker.

Peach Froyo

This simple peach froyo recipe requires only four ingredients: peaches, yogurt, honey and lemon juice (or salt). There is also the added benefit of not requiring an ice cream maker! You simply put the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth! If you want it right away, use frozen peaches. If you’re saving it for later, place the final product in an air-tight container and place it in the freezer.

Strawberry Froyo

After seeing how easy it is to make peach froyo, you’re probably realizing the possibilities are endless. Simply substitute whatever frozen fruit you prefer! This video will show you how to do it!

Gingersnap-Banana Froyo

This is an example of what you can do once you’ve mastered making vanilla froyo at home. This recipe calls for vanilla frozen yogurt (see above). Now you’re ready to go beyond with this delicious spiced Gingersnap-Banana frozen yogurt!
When it’s this easy to make a low fat, frozen treat at home, the hardest part is deciding what flavour to try next! Here’s to keeping cool this summer!
